Who Approved These Individually Packaged Bananas?

Individually packaged bananas exist because apparently, bananas don’t have a natural bio-degradable packaging of their own (you know, the peel). To make matters worse, they are packaged in plastic.

The grocer at fault was Morrisons, the fourth largest supermarket chain in the United Kingdom. Thankfully, they eventually wised up and stopped packaging their bananas like that, but why they thought it was a good idea in the first place is beyond me.
